JOHN CHARLES LODGE

Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Cello, Vocals

Born on July 20, 1945, in Birmingham, England to Charles and Olive Lodge.

Once an engineering student, John was introduced to American music and realized this was his road to follow.

At the age of 15, John met up with Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder and became a member of El Riot and the Rebels, when Ray and Mike wanted to move on, John decided to stay and continue his education.   Afterwards, John met up with Ray again in 1966, and was asked to join up with Mike and Graeme Edge of the M & B 5, later to become known as The Moody Blues, while replacing Clint Warwick.  With this move, and John’s songwriting, he was the recipient of several ASCAP awards.  Also receiving awards while co-writing songs with fellow band member, Justin Hayward.

John has been married to his wife Kirsten since 1968, and has a daughter Emily, and a son Kristian.  They soon have plans to move to Naples, Florida to be near their family.

While not touring, John enjoys traveling, wine, tennis and especially, golf.  He has played in several pro-am tournaments.

John has also embarked on making and labeling his own wines.  His first wine was made in the Napa Valley called Behrens and Hitchcock.  He has now introduced his Krisemma 2011 Bordeaux AOC and has been awarded a gold medal in the prestigious international wine challenge award for his Elgin Chardonnay 2014.  In order to purchase his wines, please go to his website.
