I know a lot of you are pet lovers, so boy, do I have a cat story for you!
My sister, Beth, has 2 cats, Garfield, a male orange tabby, of course, and Chipper, a female tuxedo cat. Last week Beth got a new mobile home. They pulled her old one to the side so she could move all her stuff to the new one. She got done moving her things on Monday and told them they could come get it any time. She wasn't thinking about them picking the old trailer up Wednesday morning when she left for work and because it was a beautiful day she let her cats out. When she got home Wednesday evening the trailer was gone and her cats were nowhere to be found. She realized they must have crawled up in the insulation under the trailer when it was moved. She was devastated, thinking she might never see her cats again and I was nearly as upset knowing how she felt about her cats and that the joy of her new home would be ruined by losing her cats.
The next morning she and her boyfriend found where they had taken the trailer and went there , they looked and called but no cats. Later Thursday morning I got this feeling that I should go to the trailer place. I told my husband and he said he would be there in a little bit too. I went up there and looked and called but no cats. I waited for him a while and when he didn't come I figured something had come up. So I came home, when I got home his truck was gone. Turned out he had gone to the fire station where he is a volunteer and got one of their high powered flashlights. I hadn't been home but a few minutes when he called and told me to come back, he had found Garfield. I called Beth and she met us and we got Garfield out of the insulation of the trailer. He had ridden all the way to town, about 8 miles and sat there all night. We looked and looked for Chipper with no luck. Beth was of course happy to have Garfield but still terribly upset. Last night (Thursday still) about 8:30 she called, she was crying. She said she had been crying about losing Chipper when Garfield ran to the front door, when she went and looked out, there was Chipper, soaking wet but unhurt. She must have jumped out from under the trailer somewhere and made her way home. We were all overjoyed over their miraculous return.
Now is that a cat story?
